This tour lasts 2 hours once the entrance to the Whale Shark refuge area is authorized, where it is allowed to swim with them, which is regulated by the authorities with the following rules & protocol
The departure is from Marina La Costa or Muelle
Fiscal and includes:
- Shaded boats
- Waters
- Explanation of the rules and facts about the
whale shark
- Guide and certified Captain
- Snorkel equipment
- Lifejacket
- Permits and insurance to carry out the activity
within the ANP
1. The whale shark refuge area has a maximum
capacity of 14 boats at the same time in the
permitted area.
2. The entry permit must be requested at the
corresponding CONANP control point every
morning, where we will be assigned an entry
number depending on the waiting list.
The departure is from Marina La Costa or Muelle

3. Waiting time can vary from 15 minutes to 3
hours, depending on demand of the day and the
shift assigned by CONANP.
4. Once we have entered the area, we are
allowed to be in it for a maximum of 2 hours to
carry out the swimming and snorkeling activity
following the instructions of your certified guide.
